Beginning this year with our first message, being the year of Divine Restoration; there is a lot you need to know in order to walk in the fullness of the prophetic; and as promised, we will be sharing messages along these lines to help you, beginning with this message. The Bible is our sure guide as we embark on the Christian life; however, many new born Christians are misled by older Christians who tell them how wonderful and glorious this new life is. Although the Christian life is a glorious life, there’s much more a new born Christian ought to know. Salvation does not take care of all your troubles, it is not an end to trails and tribulations, but it is a new beginning. In this new beginning, we must understand that Christianity is as glorious as what we can comprehend; and to walk in the glory life, there’s things we must do. Not that Christianity and salvation is conditional on us, but that our minds are so conformed to this world, that it is vital for us to renew our minds. In order to renew our minds, we ought to study the Word of God. We ought to have a real and tangible relationship with the Lord and believe the Word of God. In believing the Word of God, it is of no use to say we believe it and not do it.
Knowledge is absolute vital! If only people can stop making excuses to why they think they to busy to study the Word of God and have a prayer life communicating with the Lord. There is no excuse for not working out your salvation – money can’t buy it and no one else can work it out for you; and above all, we limited by time. We are commanded in Philippines 2:12 to work out our own salvation. A simple yet very difficult task for so many. God has given us a vast variety of ways in which we can work out our own salvation; and these things works hand-in-hand with one another. One way is to attend a church, while also making use of internet ministries like ours. Inviting people to come visit your church and evangelizing your sphere of contacts, or as you are reading this teaching, copy and share the link with others by posting it to your messenger and whatsapp contacts, share the links on facebook, etc… These things really cost you nothing but a few minutes of your time – the time God has granted you to manage and be productive.
Reach out to the lost and broken with compassion, simply share the Word of God. Develop a devotional time and prayer time. It was your soul who was saved when you came unto salvation, but the working out of your salvation you need to do. In doing so, the Lord has equipped us with His Word and gave us right standing with Him. However, the Bible does warn us not to be conformed by this world, but to be transformed by the renewing of our minds. The soul must be disciplined through the mind. We can effectively discipline our soul by studying the Word of God, praying, fasting, apply the Word of God to our daily lives, giving our time, love, and money to the poor, widows, and orphans; and also in church. God never asked us to judge a leader or pastor before giving in church, but said that the giver will be blessed [Acts 20:35]. That’s why many Christians are not blessed today; they judge and do not give in church. If your leader or pastor uses the tithes and offerings for the wrong things, God will deal with him/her. All that will happen if you hold back on giving is that you are holding yourself back for your blessings.
It is time that Christians take a serious look at the first church and how they functioned. The first church met regularly, they helped those less fortunate among them, they shared good tidings with their leaders, they were generous to strangers and those cast downs around them, they served in all readiness as a body, each one taking up their own responsibility as a member of one body; but above all, they had Jesus at the center and Christ as their head.
When we learn to place Jesus at the center of our beings and life and acknowledge the Holy Spirit [Christ] as our head, then our life will produce fruit after the Spirit [Gal.5:22]. This is the very quality a Christian should be noticed by, being rooted and planted like a tree near a river [Psa.1:3 / Jer.17:8], who’s leafs does not wither. A tree is known by its fruit, the label placed on a tree does not give or shows the quality of its fruit, only what it is suppose to be. Many Christians are like this; they label themselves as Christians, but have very little fruit to show.
For a tree to produce quality fruit, you must water it often, fertilize the roots, and loosen the soil around it; removing stones and rocks from around its roots. You also need to prune the branches. In doing all these things, you will help the tree produce good quality fruit. The fruit of a tree feeds birds and animals [as well as people] which are dependant on it. Many of us are not well rooted in the Word of God, we are not often watered, we spend little time in loosening the soil around our hearts and we find that our lives are filled with pockets of stone and rock. We don’t allow the Spirit to prune our branches by holding on to none productive activities and relationships.
Treat your life as a tree; don’t only label it, but help it produce good fruit. Be careful of pestilence [worms and insects] that might spoil its fruit. It is your responsibility to keep your tree from all pestilence. We have become the trees of life as Jesus had given us life; and commanded us to share this life with others by telling them about Jesus. Your heart is your tree of life, the veins running through your body are our roots, and your deeds are our fruit. How often do you cultivate your heart to produce good quality fruit?
During the cause of this year, you will be restored unto the man/woman God intended you to be; but you must understand that for this to happen, you must first be conscious of who that person is and also make the necessary efforts to line yourself up with that person. Below is a guide to who God has made the new creation to be.
In Psalm 82:6, God, through King David speaks prophetically of the New Creation saying; ‘Ye are gods’. This is God of all saying we are gods; but it is difficult for the human mind to comprehend this reality without the teaching of the Holy Spirit. A good, all round sound knowledge on the Word of God, together with a real tangible relationship with the Holy Spirit will help us understand deeper truths on God’s Word – and more so, it will teach us to be who God made us to be: More than Conquerors [Rom.8:37].
God says that we are gods; because we have the fullness of God dwelling in us by the Holy Spirit, Who is the fullness of the God-head in a human body [Col.2:9]. When we surrender all to God, we allow God to function in and through us. The more we let go of ourselves, the more God can bring His will and plan for our lives to pass. The biggest problem folks have, is that we don’t fully submit unto God. Humble yourself under the mighty hand of God…submit…. [1Pet.5:6]. The biggest reason, and also the biggest denial of Christians today for not fully submitting to God is pride. Pride causes us to make our own plan even though we have prayed and ask for God’s guidance. Biblical pride is somewhat different from the world’s perception of pride. Pride escalates to a lack of patience, wanting things our way, and ultimately shows forth a level of unbelief. God wants to function through our consciousness of what He is doing in and through us; and the reason for this is so that our joy may be full. Our own plan and will only leads to destruction, as we can’t see what the future holds; but allow God to steer us we know the end from the beginning [Jer.29:11] – and it is only glorious.
Throughout this year, focus yourself on what the Word of God says concerning you as a new creation. Who are you? Discover your real you by digging into the Word of God. You will come to understand that God has made you to have dominion over satan and circumstances. Moreso, you will come to understand that by the Word of God you can take charge of your life. God wants more for you, He wants it to be well with you; all you need to do is learn how to use God’s Word.
The principles of God’s Word are encapsulated in His Word to us. The Word of God is the Christian’s source of life. This new life we have is a life of faith; and Romans 10:17 says: ‘Faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God.’ Now many have read this, but still fail to hear the Word of God. Let me shed some light on this before closing: When you study the Word of God, you ought to speak out that which you study so that you may hear yourself. As you speak out the Word of God during your study times and scripture reading, you will hear the Word of God and your faith will be increase by doing so. This does not mean whispering, you must feel your vocal cords vibrate. This is also why some will pray and not receive answers, but live in the illusion that things are happening. Prayer is communication, and communication makes use of the vocal cords. However, take note of the words given to us in the Bible: When you pray, believe, and you shall have what you ask [Mark 11:24]. God has given us His Word so that we can use it – start using God’s Word effectively; and learn to speak the Word concerning you over your own life; this way the Word will produce the results it speaks of – and in all you do, don’t stop speaking it, for the Word is seed and as you sow seed, it will grow and produce fruit after its own manner.
