Blessed from Above

Many Christians in today’s society uses the excuse for not being active in the church, church programs, and evangelistic programs; because their work are to demanding. It is the devil who had caused you to live a lie. What does it profit a man to have a good job and be wealthy, but looses his/her salvation? Proverbs 10:22 says: “It’s the Lord’s blessings that makes you wealthy, hard work can make you no richer.”

Some say that – ‘I must make a living; and my work is very demanding, I don’t always have the time to go to church.’ Others say that – ‘I prayed for long; and the Lord answered me by giving me this or that job.’ I tell you the truth, any work which takes you away from attending church, or participate in the regular meetings of church and evangelistic programs is not a blessing from God. You might have been suffering for long and now things looks on the upside because of the work you have; but if that work is keeping you away from church in any form or way, it is not from God.

Devil can also seemingly bless us, but because of his anointing being corrupted, it will eventually show as a curse. Many Christians don’t understand this, but devil do bless as well. As long as devil can keep you away from doing God’s work, he will cause blessings to come upon you. Even Jesus was tempted by devil and his blessings in luke chapter 4 from verse 2 – “Being forty days tempted of the devil. And in those days he did eat nothing: and when they were ended, he afterward hungered. 3 And the devil said unto him, If thou be the Son of God, command this stone that it be made bread. 4 And Jesus answered him, saying, It is written, That man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word of God. 5 And the devil, taking him up into an high mountain, shewed unto him all the kingdoms of the world in a moment of time. 6 And the devil said unto him, All this power will I give thee, and the glory of them: for that is delivered unto me; and to whomsoever I will I give it. 7 If thou therefore wilt worship me, all shall be thine.”

Devil temp you, offer you blessings which is not necessarily from God; and the problem is – many folks these days are are worshipping devil without even knowing it; like devil said to Jesus in verse 7 above.

We wonder about in this world oblivious to the reality of what happens in the spirit realm and after this life. You can gain all the wealth in this world and still miss Heaven. You can seek to live a comfortable life in this world, and still you can miss Heaven. There is nothing wrong with being a wealthy Christian believer, but your wealth shouldn’t be obtained while it keeps you away from church at any time. God doesn’t want you in church one Sunday and the next Sunday you may be excused, because you believe that the work was a blessing from God – neither should it effect any other Christian and church responsibility. Place God first by making yourself available for His work; and all other things will follow…

Like we read early from Proverbs 10:22: “It’s the Lord’s blessings that makes you wealthy, hard work can make you no richer.” God had brought us into His Sabbath (rest) – no Christian should be taken advantage of in the work place. There is nothing wrong with hard work, but know that God ordained a life for you with unfair advantages to the rest of the world. When others have to work hard to get to the top, you will find yourself at the top with easy, because you have made the choice to dedicate your time to God first. What most pastors don’t tell their congregation when they speak these prophetic words is, you got to stick to the Word of God and apply it. Joshua 1:8 gives a beautiful insight when it says: Meditate on the Word day and night; and do not let it depart from your mouth. We are to keep God’s Word in our mouth; every time we speak, it should be God’s Word that comes out. It then furthermore says; for if we do this, we will make our way prosperous and have good success. It is our responsibility to study God’s word ourselves and apply it – for in doing so we will prosper and have good success – God’s way. It isn’t God’s responsibility, we got to do it ourselves. I tell people who are stagnant to get hold of God’s Word and to stick to it, for you will surely come back with a testimony when you do so.

On the other hand, many folks don’t believe in blessings and miracles any more. When things go wrong in their lives, they except it as part of life. Yes, Jesus did say that trails and tribulations will surely come (John16:33), but that does not mean you have to be contempt with it; for He said in the same line: ‘…cheer up for I have overcome the world.’ A few weeks ago I shared on Christian attitude – that the way we react towards things in life matters. Devil wants you all depressed and cast down, therefore you are to cheer up even in the time of diverse challenges. This is your victory; that Jesus Christ has overcome the world.

Mankind has a very bad habit in looking at the men and women God had placed before them; looking righteous men and women and examining their lives to find fault. When a fault are detected, they the first ones to speak against the pastors and leaders. No wonder their own lives is in such a mess. You keep on looking at the men and women God had placed in front of you, but you don’t pay attention to the very Word of God He had place right in your hand and in your heart. My God is a God of miracles – He is the same yesterday, today, and forever; He never changes (Heb,13:8). Some say that miracles don’t happen today, some say that there is no such thing as God blessing people… I don’t know if these people are not reading their Bible or they reading a different Bible. Some folks go to church and listen to the message being administered, but they go home and don’t open their Bibles for themselves.

If you don’t believe in God’s blessings and miracles, they you don’t believe in God – for He was a God of blessings and miracles in the Old Testament, in the days Jesus walked this earth, today and forever – He never changed and never will. We are blessed by every day we live and eat, for each season, for each sunrise, for each drop of rain that comes down has been set in place through the Word of God.

Our every step we take, every breath we take, in all we do; we are blessed from above. Denying the blessings of God in our lives is like denying God Himself. We are blessed from above and must walk in faith to live a life which expresses God’s blessings and miracles in our daily life. It is time that those who say they believe start looking at God and His Word, stop looking at man and start trusting God for what He had given us in His Word.

Throughout the Bible we see that God had called ordinary men and women; and the success stories we read about in the Bible came from obedience to the Word of God. They applied faith and lived a miraculous life of blessings. Learn to take God by His Word and know that the very air you breath today is a blessing from God. You might be suffering financially, you might be faced with trouble at work or have difficulty in a relationship, you might be experiencing health issues or even faced with a life threatening illness; have faith in God Who will do exceedingly and above all human comprehension. God is more willing to do for you than what you are to receive from Him.
